Since we hung out in West Yellowstone on our 2nd day (and went to the Grizzly & Wolf Discovery Center and the IMAX theater), I don't think we took very many pictures.
So we are moving onto day 3: Mammoth Hot Springs & the North Entrance.
In the 12 years since I last visited Mammoth Hot Springs with the German exchange students, it has started to dry up! It is sad to think that by the time Mason comes back to Yellowstone it will be dried up even more - but if there was one lesson I learned on this trip, Yellowstone National Park truly is a dynamic and constantly changing locale.
All the kids and grandkids - I just realized my brother-in-law Mike isn't in this picture, so now I can't even say it's the entire family minus my father-in-law who is taking the picture and my mother-in-law who is trying to get the grandkids to smile for the picture.
Since the North Entrance, aka Roosevelt Arch, located in Gardiner, Montana, isn't very far from Mammoth, we decided to drive out to it and see it. It is pretty cool to think that at the time these pictures were taken it had been completed & dedicated (by President Theodore Roosevelt) for just over 107 years.
Okay, my European friends can stop laughing now. I know this is practically brand new compared to the buildings all over Europe.

You are so right: I totally started laughing when I read about this enormous age :)
But I really do like the pictures. Seems like you had a great time!
Hi,
I have a question about your site, would you mind emailing me back @ kthomas@primroseschools.com?
Thanks,
Kathleen
